Low-technology is useful and simple technology respectful to the people and the planet. A low-tech responds to basic needs (energy and water access, food conservation, housing…) in a way that is accessible (few skills and little money needed…), empowering (resilience, autonomy…) and sustainable (energy efficiency, upcycling…). Many of these solutions already exist and can be applied to a variety of fields as soon as they are adapted to the local context, needs and resources; rocket stove, desert fridge, hydroponics, wind turbine, solar cooker, water solar heater, spirulina are but a few!
